Four singing prom queens take Springfield High's senior prom by storm in 1958 — and reunite a decade later in 1968 to deliver harmonies, secrets, and the era's biggest hits.
A doo-wop, jukebox musical comedy by Roger Bean, directed by Emma Amber. The show follows the four Marvelous Wonderettes — Cindy Lou, Missy, Suzy and Betty Jean — as they take to the stage in their candy-coloured prom gowns to entertain their classmates at the 1958 Springfield High senior prom. Ten years later they reunite for their high-school reunion and discover that life has thrown them a few curveballs along the way.
Wall-to-wall hits from the late 50s and 60s — Mr. Sandman, Lollipop, Dream Lover, Stupid Cupid, Lipstick on Your Collar, It’s My Party, It’s in His Kiss and many more.
The Marvelous Wonderettes is the show that started it all for Origen — our 2022 debut, three return seasons, and the production that earned our first two Fleur du Cap nominations, including a Best Director nomination for Emma Amber.
